Sarah + Scott | Married
A ceremony in the church he grew up in, a reception in the backyard of the home they’ll grow old in together. What a day! Sarah and Scott have known each other for 15 years, but recently got reconnected and this time, there was a love they couldn’t deny. They said their vows and read deeply emotional letters dedicating their lives to each other in front of family and friends, many of whom travelled from different states to be there on their special day.
They wanted the focus at their reception to be on fellowship, so they set up rows of tables on their land, decorated with kraft paper, buffalo check, and freshly picked wildflowers, to welcome their guests to a barbeque dinner as the sun set over rural Oklahoma. It was beautiful. While the guests ate, Sarah, Scott, and I walked the trail they’ve worn down around the edge of their 10 acres so we could take photos in several spots that are meaningful to them. I was so honored to be let in to that little part of their lives! They’ve worked hard to renovate this beautiful farmhouse, so of course we had to get a picture in front of it. I hope their grandchildren look at that same photo some day and smile. That’s what makes my job worthwhile!
