Alissa + Byron | Married

Still pinching myself in disbelief that this whole thing actually happened. A snowy destination wedding, the sweetest couple and just 14 of their closest family and friends in attendance. I may or may not have teared up driving to the ceremony thinking about how life can bring you experiences you never even imagined. If you’d have told me 3 years ago someone would pay me to come to Colorado and shoot their wedding, I would’ve laughed - but here we are!

Alissa and Byron opted for a no-fuss, no frills, intimate wedding ceremony atop one of the most beautiful overlooks in Colorado - Sapphire Point, near Breckenridge. Obviously a Colorado wedding in February runs the risk of being insanely cold, blizzarding, the works - but wouldn’t you know, the day of their wedding it was completely sunny with a high in the 40s. I didn’t even need a jacket! Incredible.

Their brother-in-law performed the ceremony, their siblings read from the Bible, and they prayed together under a tree after weaving three cords of family heirloom leather together to symbolize their new union in Christ. The whole thing had me emotional. Right after the kiss and beaming at each other with the giddiest smiles, they popped champagne with their family and friends, turned on some Texas country and got to two-stepping right there on the mountaintop. These are my kinda people. Congratulations, A + B!

Check out the chipmunk between the two bridesmaids!

Pure BLISS right after the kiss!

More wildlife - some hikers gave us their leftover sunflower seeds and a few little birdies came and said hello!

Look at their shadow - do you see the heart?? Couldn’t have made that happen if we’d tried. A little wedding day wink from heaven.
