Alisa + Matt | Expecting
Bless Alisa’s heart and her pregnant, swollen feet – I think we picked the hottest day of the entire year to do this maternity session. My car said 106 degrees on the way to her house and that was at 6:30pm. Texas, you don’t mess around. Thanks to lots of breaks for sweat blotting and dress fanning, this mama looked gorgeous throughout her whole session and rocked it, sweltering heat and all.
Alisa told me when she booked that she wanted to do her session at home because she has a really spectacular backyard. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect, but let’s just say I was not disappointed in the least bit. She was not lying. Her backyard IS spectacular and we were able to use a few different angles as the sun set and cooled things down to a nice, comfy 95 degrees.
You’ll notice Alisa and Matt holding a tiny little seedling of an oak tree in one of their photos, standing in front of a small tree in the ground. Alisa’s family members all have their own trees planted on the property where they live - four generations deep, including a few giant live oaks going strong for more than sixty years. When Alisa and Matt got married four years ago in this very backyard, they planted a tree for their future family - the one that they’re standing in front of - and when they found out they were expecting Baby Boy, they cut a seedling from that tree and are saving it to plant for him someday. Such a cool tradition to commemorate life’s biggest occasions and strong family ties. Congrats, Alisa + Matt!
