Sunia + Ali | One Year
/When Sunia suggested a cozy fall mini session in their house, I was ALLLL for it. I don’t get to do these types of shoots nearly as often as I’d like! There’s something so comforting and peaceful about photos in your own home, just snuggling and drinking coffee, or in this couple’s case, baking up something delicious.
Funnily enough, Sunia and Ali actually live just a few houses down from our old house (in the CUTEST neighborhood in OKC - I miss it so much!). We realized it last spring when I did their engagement photos at Martin Park Nature Center and we chatted about where we lived, and then lo and behold, I’d see them in their yard all the time! Neighbors all along and we didn’t even know it. It made me smile to be back on my old street, hanging out and doing what I love. Comfy clothes, bare feet, warm blankets and sweet smiles - it doesn’t get much better!
But it did get better, because for their one year anniversary, Sunia wanted to do a portrait session - in their wedding clothes - at the conservatory at Myriad Gardens and at a gorgeous coffeeshop downtown. She put her wedding dress back on, Ali buttoned up his tux and we enjoyed some of the prettiest sunlight beaming through the glass. Sunia wanted a few more bridal portraits as well, and you know I’ll never say no to that. So glad to have connected with S + A and honored that they’ve had me document these milestones!
