If you couldn’t tell by this bride’s radiant smile, this wedding day was completely full of pure joy. Lily and Matt have been together for 8 years, including 2 years of cross-country long distance before moving to a city completely new to them. Lily and I connected through a mutual friend’s Tuesday morning coffee group when I still lived in OKC, and spent many an early morning drinking lattes and talking about work, life, and dreams together. She is just the most joyful, optimistic, happy-hearted person and Matt is her perfect match.

In Lily’s own words: “Matt and I met in geology class our sophomore year of college. I had the biggest crush on him - he was smart, handsome and quiet - but I didn't think he was interested since he stayed pretty reserved with me. He had a key into the geology building because he was a major but I didn't because I was just a minor. One day after we got assigned some out of class work in the geology lab, he gave me his number, telling me he could let me into the building anytime so I could work on the lab. I was beyond excited and soon realized he had a crush on me too when he asked to hang out outside the lab one weekend. The rest is history!”

“Matt proposed at The Drake on a random Wednesday night and it couldn't have been more relaxed or romantic. I had no idea it was coming - he was so chill during dinner, not nervous at all. Then dessert came (2 lemon cloud pie pieces - it's too good to share) and Matt turned to me and said, "the only thing that could make this moment better is if I could ask you to marry me" and pulled the most gorgeous ring out of his pocket. I did some combination of cry and laugh and said "YES OF COURSE". The moment was so sweet and intimate, and I didn't stop grinning for like the next month.”

Lily and Matt asked me to capture their engagement photos and I was beyond honored when they asked me again, this time to capture the biggest day of their lives. I don’t take that lightly! I know it’s a lot to trust someone with that task, and it was a privilege to be there for this couple.

This couple had a huge team of some of Oklahoma’s BEST wedding vendors to help them put together their magical day - Blair Sims deserves a special shout out because her planning skills helped bring their vision to life (and gave me some magic to photograph!). She made sure their day completely reflected who they are as a couple - refined and classy, yet quirky and laid back (I mean, koozies with their cat’s face? amazing). My hope was that I was able to capture not just pretty things, but beautiful moments. There were a ton of both! Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. Peppers!
