The Rays | At Home

This session filled my cup in so many ways – something different than my usual newborn or family session. For this one, Maddie (our family’s go-to photographer, as kind and down-to-earth as she is incredibly talented) requested a session at home, just documenting a day spent with her babies. So that’s what we did! I caught the simplest moments. No posing, no directing – just a mama playing with her babies, laying on the floor, cuddling on the couch, getting messy in the kitchen – a sweet 2-year-old big sister adoring her brand new baby brother. Capturing this session for Maddie in this season meant so much because she’s been parenting solo since her baby boy arrived. Her husband’s longtime dream of becoming a Texas game warden is becoming a reality, but requires months away from home and the timing hasn’t been ideal. Maddie’s been powering through and I’m in awe of how she’s handling everything. That’s what moms do, though. We do what needs to be done for our families and our babies, with love and grace along the way.
