Eli | One Year

I swear, there’s not a year that goes by faster than a baby’s first year of life. It really does feel like just a couple of months ago I was taking Eli’s newborn photos – how has it been a year?! I was so thankful the Burns family was open to my direction here and agreed to meet at The Lumen Room natural light studio in Dallas – it’s one of my favorite spots for one year photos for several reasons. For one, it means wind, rain and temperatures don’t have to be a factor. This space gets gorgeous light any time of year, any time of day. It’s also the perfect neutral backdrop for a busy almost-one-year-old who’s crawling all over the place. It eliminates distractions and helps to keep them contained.

Mostly though, I loved this session because we just got to capture real life. Real connections, real love, the small little details these parents will never want to forget. A couple of real meltdowns – those are worth remembering, too. The best way to spend a morning, making memories with a family so in love. Happy birthday, Eli!
